  • "Mother Nature and Opportunities" (Connecting/Disconnecting Gladhands) - 2:22
  • "Bump on a Log" (Loading/Assisted to Load Flatbed Freight) 2:36
  • "Purple Finger Nails and Profanity" (Opening/Closing Side-Box on Flatbed Trailer) - 1:47
  • "Wendy is now Windy" (Opening/Closing Trailer Door) - 2:07
These videos are great for ongoing training, corrective action training, and for discussions at safety meetings.

You can watch one of the lessons in this month's series by clicking on the video below or visiting this link: http://youtu.be/s9n8fsKJBXQ

Each month we will be releasing a series of five or more stories in this series exclusive to Infinit-i TM users. The goal of each short video is to help you reduce the number of on-the-job injuries, thus keeping your worker’s compensation insurance premiums down.

34 Hour Restart Rule Has Changed.

FMCSA: Suspension of 34-hour restart rules will change when the budget bill is signed by the president.

“FMCSA is preparing a Federal Register Notice, that will also be posted on our website, to advise the public that it is suspending enforcement of the restart restrictions as required by law. We are also working to ensure that the 12,000 state and federal motor carrier enforcement personnel are prepared to revert back to the previous restart,”

The 2015 appropriations bill will suspend two provisions of the 2013 HOS rule:
(1) The requirement that drivers’ 34-hour restarts include two 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. periods and
(2) the provision that limits the use of the restart to once per 168 hours (a week).

I just called a local DOT office and spoke with an officer that does CMV inspections. He indicated he was aware of the changes and the HOS enforcement is back to before the 2013 HOS rule changed the 34 hour restart.

FMCSA proposes to establish the Commercial Driver's License Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse

FMCSA proposes to establish the Commercial Driver's License Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse (Clearinghouse), a database under the Agency's administration that will contain controlled substances (drug) and alcohol test result information for the holders of commercial driver's licenses (CDLs). The proposed rule would require FMCSA-regulated motor carrier employers, Medical Review Officers (MROs), Substance Abuse Professionals (SAPs), and consortia/third party administrators (C/TPAs) supporting U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) testing programs to report verified positive, adulterated, and substituted drug test results, positive alcohol test results, test refusals, negative return-to-duty test results, and information on follow-up testing.

New Years Resolutions

To All,

It's only been 30 days since the onslaught of new resolutions to be better, but after handling well over 600 calls, rest assured that companies Sales Departments continue to be in severe trouble. If the CEO's would listen in with me on a call, they may and might be mortified. Any takers are always welcome as FEBRUARY is now here and your firm may not survive another month of Sales talent with little desire for positive change, coaching and training. The new year is a time to rededicate yourself to the mission and your passions.   Daylights burning.....!

Freight Broker Bond Deadline Is Here.

Freight Brokers the Supreme Court has upheld the new regulations, and from some sources about 10% of the current fright brokers are unqualified and will lose their licence to broker freight. I wonder what this will do to some companies freight?

Drivers and OO's this might be a good time to look at a change and get into Brokering Freight. There are new laws associated with this and I think you have to have 3 years experience under a bonded broker before you can apply to be a Bonded Broker. For those that want to get into this but can't afford to take a week off to attend a 3-5k class.

We have added an online training to become a Journeyman Certified Broker. This means you can work under a Bonded Broker to begin the 3 years necessary to move out on your own.
